Sessions & agents

Each run gets a live session — a real terminal with a header that tells you exactly what's running, where, and for how long.

Session header

Every session carries a header so you always know its context:

  • Provider chip — which agent is running (CC, GH, …).
  • Agent and model — e.g. the specific model parsed from output.
  • Worktree — the bound working directory.
  • Elapsed time — how long the run has been going.

Switching sessions

A session strip lets you move between concurrent runs. Right-click a session to copy its details.

Shell auto-detection

Sessions launch the right shell for the platform automatically:

  • Windows — prefers pwsh, falls back to powershell, then cmd.
  • macOS / Linux — uses your $SHELL.

Smart PTY sizing

Nexus sizes the PTY to fit the rendered terminal, so TUI agents — including Ink-based UIs like Copilot — render correctly instead of wrapping or clipping.

Global pulse

Aggregate activity surfaces in two always-visible places:

  • The rail footer — fleet-wide agent and worktree counts.
  • The status bar — the active project’s live state.
