Introduction
Nexus is a developer mission control for AI-assisted workflows. It is built around running agents against your repos — not editing files — and sits alongside your editor as a command center.
What Nexus is
Nexus is an Electron desktop application that makes the project the primary unit of navigation. It exists to solve one problem: managing many concurrent repositories, branches, worktrees, and AI agent runs without drowning in terminal windows.
You describe a task in plain language, dispatch it to an agent in an isolated worktree, watch it run with live status, and review what comes back — all from one window, across every repo you’ve registered.
Nexus is not a code editor. It is a command center that runs beside VS Code, Rider, or whatever you write code in. Think mission control, not IDE.
Who it’s for
The target user is a principal+ engineer managing 5–15+ active repositories, using AI coding agents daily, and working across multiple branches and worktrees simultaneously.
Two surfaces
The app has two top-level modes, switchable from the title bar:
| Mode | What it’s for |
|---|---|
| Workbench | Launch runs, watch live agent sessions, and manage the Project Rail, branches, and worktrees. |
| Review | Move through an agent’s changed files hunk by hunk — approve, request changes, or skip. |
Where to go next
If you just want to run it, jump to Installation. To understand the design first, read The mission-control model. To dispatch your first agent, see Starting a run.
