Branches & worktrees
Full Git branch and worktree management without leaving Nexus — all powered by dugite, so no system Git is required.
Branch operations
Nexus exposes a complete set of branch operations:
- List local and remote branches
- Checkout, create, rename, and delete branches
- Fetch, pull, and push
- Push with
--force-with-lease - Set and unset upstream tracking
- Checkout a remote branch into a local tracking branch
Worktree grid
A worktree grid shows the working directories attached to the project. From it you can create a new worktree (auto-creating its branch) or remove one you’re done with.
Powered by dugite
Every operation runs through dugite, which bundles Git with the app. That means branch and worktree management works identically whether or not the user has Git installed system-wide.
--force-with-lease is the safe force push: it aborts if the remote moved since you last fetched. Use it instead of --force so you never clobber a teammate’s — or an agent’s — pushed work.
