Your first run

Add a project, switch context with one click, describe a task, and dispatch it to an agent. This is the core loop Nexus is built around.

Add a project

There are two ways to register repositories:

  • Add one — click the + control and pick a repository folder.
  • Scan a root — point Nexus at a parent directory and it walks up to three levels deep, registering every Git repo it finds. It skips node_modules so a monorepo scan stays fast.

Switch context

Every registered repo appears in the Project Rail. Click any entry to rebind the entire app — branches, worktrees, sessions, and review all follow the selected project. One click, no window juggling.

Start a run

In the Workbench, the run launcher is the default surface:

  1. Type the task in plain language — “Add retry logic to the upload flow.”
  2. Pick a provider (Claude Code, Copilot, …).
  3. Click Start run.

Nexus creates an isolated worktree, opens a live session, and begins streaming agent output.

Set up this repo

For best results, prepare the repository once:

  • Add a CLAUDE.md at the repo root to orient agents. The launcher detects it and surfaces a checkmark.
  • Configure worktrees so parallel runs don’t collide on a single working directory.

The work loop

  1. Describe the task and pick a provider.
  2. Dispatch — Nexus spins up an isolated worktree and a live session.
  3. Watch live telemetry (model, status, elapsed) in the rail and status bar.
  4. Review the agent’s changed files hunk by hunk in Review mode.
  5. Approve, commit, or request changes — then start the next run.
